Hello Tuulikki.

Nice to hear from You. I myself took a 3 month break this summer. But yes Veturi is up and running still. Better than Ever. BoT towers are regular targets. As well as many other things.

Many peeps are already gathering Flags towards Elementals in open raids.

Quite many things are changed since you last played. LDoN expansion has some really kickass Items. It also implemented Augmentations. So many items can be improved with them. Many graphical changes, including Graphical Target Ring, new spell effects.

Also Melee changes are occurring just now. As a first step they unbound Discs into 4 categories. So Many discs can be used in a row now. For example you can use Innerflame and Stonestance and Thunderkcik in a row, as long as you have *Stamina*. Yes Discs use stamina now. (But normal attacking does not.) Plus Ashenhand and Innerflame have been greatly improved.

Also monks got Dodge from behind now.

Next step will be implementing vulnerabilities a la DAoC or FFXI. So there will be more options. They also speak alot about giving monks some kind of Lull ability.

Im not sure still If those changes will be enuff to bring us up to date with Other classes, but there is a chance now atleast.

P.S. I still dream about your pants.

:-)

EQ is also getting more PvP based action now. There is a new server with Real Life PvP mode: if you die, your character is deleted and recreated at level 1. No ressing, no banking, no multiple chars. Corpses will stay up for 30 min, and you can loot your own corpse, or someones corpse you killed completely (except for nodrop items).

I'm not comparing any games here...but... yes I am Smiley

Its strange and funny to notice changes in both DAoC and EQ. Those things mentioned above have been in DAoC from day one. Just two months ago they released an expansion (ToA) for DAoC and its PvE things start to lean a bit towards EQ. If we just wait about ten years they might have found the ultimate concept and we all are playin Dark Age of EverQuest Wink

Every MMPORG is copying ideas from other MMPORGs.

Naturally MUDs, which copy pen and paper RPGs which copy childs play.

But what was the very first MMORPG? Basically MUDs are MMORPGs also, but people generally tend to think of MMORPGs as graphical games. If we handle them here as graphical ones, was Meridian59 the first?
